AHDA has launched HEADACHEAct.org, a dedicated public hub for H.R. 5536.
The site is built around a simple idea: advocacy works better when it is specific. Rather than national averages, visitors can see what headache disorders look like in their own congressional district.
What you can do here
- Explore state and district data on headache disorder prevalence, specialist access, and economic impact
- Check whether your House member and senators have cosponsored the bill, and send them a message either way
- See which organizations have endorsed the legislation
- Read what the bill actually does and the research, workforce, and access gaps it addresses
The data behind it
The map draws on congressional district reference statistics, the UCNS Diplomate Directory of board-certified headache specialists, and the VA's own list of Headache Centers of Excellence. Cosponsor status syncs from Congress.gov daily, so the numbers are current rather than a snapshot.
One figure that surprises people: more than 90% of U.S. counties have no headache specialist at all, and there are fewer than 900 UCNS-certified specialists nationwide for more than 40 million patients.
