HEADACHE Act Receives Endorsement from the GOP Women's Health Coalition

The HEADACHE Act has earned the support of the GOP Women's Health Coalition, an important voice helping elevate women's health priorities among Republican policymakers.

The Coalition brings Republican lawmakers together to identify policy solutions addressing women's unique health needs, and serves as a forum for advancing those priorities.

What the endorsement said

In its letter, the Coalition highlighted the disproportionate impact of migraine and other headache disorders on women, and praised the bipartisan HEADACHE Act for:

  • Improving federal coordination on headache disorders
  • Strengthening the headache care workforce
  • Expanding access to care, particularly in rural and underserved communities

The Coalition called on Congress to advance the legislation, underscoring the HEADACHE Act's relevance as a women's health priority.

Why women's health

Migraine is the leading cause of disability for women ages 15 to 49 worldwide. It affects women at roughly three times the rate of men, and prevalence peaks in a woman's thirties, often during the years she is building a career and raising a family. Women with migraine are also more likely to be dismissed, misdiagnosed, or under-treated than men presenting the same symptoms.
